Keep Products and Stock Current

Products and stock are the promise every connected seller builds on. Use Catalog for the range and Inventory for what can actually be supplied.

Build a range sellers can trust

  1. Add or edit products in Catalog.
  2. Give each item a unique, stable stock-keeping unit (SKU). Changing identifiers after sellers depend on them creates avoidable matching and fulfilment problems.
  3. Complete the information a seller needs to make an honest customer promise: clear names, descriptions, images, manufacturer details, dimensions, certifications, and supported regions where relevant.
  4. Set a wholesale price for items intended for wholesale supply. Your private cost value is not offered to sellers and does not replace a missing wholesale price.
  5. Discontinue products carefully instead of erasing their trading history.

Keep availability honest

In Inventory, you can review available, reserved, and incoming stock, update quantities, set reorder points, and record adjustments.

  • Available stock must never fall below zero.
  • Stock reserved for accepted work is no longer available for another order.
  • Reorder points should reflect replenishment time and demand volatility, not a number chosen once and forgotten.
  • Lead times and supported regions should match what the operation can deliver consistently.

Choose the right way to update

  • Use Catalog and Inventory for a small range or occasional changes.
  • Use Feeds for larger catalogue and stock files.
  • A bulk catalogue upload can partly succeed. Review the result, correct failed rows, and submit only what needs another attempt.

A useful daily rhythm

  1. Review low-stock and incoming-stock signals before the day's order cut-off.
  2. Correct unexpected stock differences with a clear reason.
  3. Check reserved and available stock after a large shipment batch.
  4. Retire products deliberately when sellers already rely on them.
